I'm a moderator and admin on this forum, and if you're new, please read this whole topic.
I'll be telling you how to write a good thread.

1. Make sure your thread hasn't already been posted.
Use the 'Search' tool to check your thread hasn't already been posted. This will cause less confusion with admins and mods
2. Make sure that your thread is layed out clearly.
If you make it look all messy then nobody will understand what you're trying to say
3. Name your topic that summarizes your problem
If you make a topic called 'Help!' then people will simply not bother to waste their time clicking on something that says 'help' when they don't even know if they can help. If you want help with matchups in Brawl say 'What are Ness' bad matchups?' or something.
